This innovative project seamlessly integrates cultural identity with sustainable design and environmental harmony.
For this project, the goal was to create a master plan that reflects Korean identity in its buildings. At the same time, the terrain’s topography allowed the buildings to be arranged in such a way that they represent the 7 chakras of the human body, which are aligned with the spinal cord. Similarly, in this project, an axis was created where everything is connected.
One of the main goals of the project was to minimize environmental impact. Therefore, wood will be used for construction, designed in such a way that the buildings can be dismantled and the materials reused.
The food provided at the retreat center will be locally sourced or produced on-site. Any food that is not consumed will be fed to an aerobic digester. There are plans to create activities focused on nature protection, community gardening, and food production.
