In June 2012, international representatives and foreign dignitaries gathered at the convention center for the seventh meeting of the G-20, known as the Mexico Summit.

A last-minute decision by the federal government presented the opportunity to secure this commission. Designed by FR-EE, led by Mauricio Ceballos, the G20 Convention Center was conceptualized and constructed within a remarkable timeframe of just seven months. Despite the tight deadline, the building adheres to high environmental and security standards.

Located in a desert environment, the center boasts the country’s largest green wall, strategically utilized to enhance interior humidity levels and mitigate heat. The Mexico Federal Government entrusted FR-EE with the design and construction of this convention center for the G20.

Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico. The G-20 Mexico Summit saw the attendance of notable figures including U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The expedited construction process ensured that the building was completed in record time, allowing for a successful hosting of the summit.
