High hospitality and maintenance requirements, due to the high corrosion of the port, were embedded in the entire design process. A hotel that has been continuously modified over the years required a restructuring and design uplift. The design envisions Veracruz's cultural connections to Cuba and Miami, featuring white open spaces, clean lines, and natural materials to achieve this. Front-of-house areas were redesigned to showcase the port's spectacular 360-degree views while providing protection from the north winds. Complex back-of-house areas were adjusted to ensure optimal flows of work and service to guests.
